Dear Customers,

Thank you always for your continued support.

This is Sasaki, owner of restaurant kiji.

Time flies, and as of June, it has been three months since we opened our restaurant.

Spring days always seem to pass by in the blink of an eye, but this year, perhaps because I was struggling to adjust to a new lifestyle, it felt a bit longer.

With the goal of becoming a beloved restaurant rooted in the Nakatsu area, I have devoted myself every day to cooking and building the restaurant.

That said, running the restaurant alone has been more challenging than I imagined, and I often fell ill in the early days after opening.

Even so, over these three months, many customers have chosen our restaurant, and recently, more neighbors have been dropping by, and repeat customers for our course meals have increased.

Casual conversations with customers and the smiles they give me when they say "It was delicious" are a daily comfort and great encouragement for me.

Thanks to the staff who help out about once a week and the support of designers from companies in the same building, I have realized firsthand that there is only so much I can do alone. This has been a major lesson during this initial period.

I suppose I will continue to live with the big anxieties I have carried so far, but I feel I have become a little better at handling them than before.

Although it is still difficult to say that things are on track, perhaps this very process is what it means to be progressing smoothly.

I will continue to strive to create a comfortable space and a special time for our customers.

I sincerely appreciate your continued guidance and support.

Now, the hot summer is finally approaching.

We plan to offer shaved ice as a summer-only menu item after the rainy season ends.

We will inform you again as soon as details are decided, so please look forward to it.

Sasaki
